Development of innovative materials for environmental applications, resources recovery and reuse
WP2 is coordinated by the “Petru Poni” Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry (P2), and it develops innovative materials with tailored structures and properties for environmental applications, resource recovery and reuse. Research covers organic, polymeric, inorganic, carbon-based and hybrid materials, including materials derived from biomass and waste and designed for aquaculture applications. Advanced synthesis, characterisation and computational chemistry support the development of functional materials for testing and integration in other CERSUS work packages.
WP2 Objectives
O2.1. Design of new materials with on-demand structures and functional groups, using specific innovative functionalization reactions.
These materials refer to organic / polymeric /i norganic / carbon-based compounds / hybrids / composites with catalytic / electrocatalytic / photolytic / photocatalytic properties.
O2.2. Develop new methods to obtain innovative compounds / hybrids / composites / materials, with controlled features, from various (bio)waste sources and/or for aquaculture applications;
O2.3. Explore the interest molecular structures and elucidate the hypothetical mechanisms of intermolecular interactions by computational chemistry methods
