Sustainability and risk assessment of materials development, advanced processes, by-products and waste valorisation
WP6 Objectives
O.6.1. Identify the most appropriate eco-design principles and measures and ex-ante LCA in the earliest possible stages of product or process development to forecast types and values of potential environmental impacts;
O.6.2. Implement life cycle-based assessment instruments and methodologies to generate complex sustainability profiles of the innovative materials, products or processes developed for the implementation of circular bioeconomy;
O.6.3. Use other assessment instruments like LCC, water and carbon footprints, MCDA, process modelling, estimation, statistical &scenario analysis, to evaluate other relevant sustainability aspects;
O.6.4. Use specific (toxicity and other relevant) data generated in other WPs to calculate and update impact characterization factors and risk assessment methodologies for some of the novel compounds, materials and products.
WP6 Tasks and Activities
WP6 is lead by the project coordinator. Most of WP6 activities rely on lab-scale data generated in WP2, WP3, WP4, WP5.
Task 6.1. Eco-design principles and practices for prospective sustainability assessment of innovative materials for environmental applications
Task 6.2. Prospective sustainability assessment of advanced and emerging processes for environmental applications
Task 6.3. Prospective sustainability assessment of by-products and waste valorization practices
Task 6.4. Sustainability assessment of innovative materials developed in WP2
Task 6.5. Sustainability performance assessment of advanced and emerging processes developed in WP3
Task 6.6. Sustainability performance assessment of by-products and wastes valorised in WP5
Task 6.7. Risk assessment and updating LCIA methodologies
